Spring Summer 2014 decisions for Spencer Clothing
The images you see above are two parts of eight capsules within the Spring Summer 2014 collection that have remained / been confirmed as part of the final cut.
The fabrics and trimmings are chosen, the designs are confirmed, just the samples to make up – now we move into the really exciting part (at least for me)… seeing the vision come to life. My production team which are made up of fabric technologists, pattern designers, machinists are an incredibly talented group – I found this photograph of some of them before the workroom was decorated.
Of course the real excitement is meeting people that don’t know you and they’re wearing your label, that’s when you get the biggest kick, there’s just no feeling like it.
The clothing that you see on our website homepage is Autumn Winter 2013 and that’s starting to hit stores in the next 4 to 8 weeks which is always great to see. We’re on Facebook and Google+ feel free to +1 or Like us it would be good to hear from you.

We have a Pinterest Board named Black & White and it’s picking up a lot of repins and followers which although we can take no credit for the content we can take solace in the fact that our little collection choice is proving popular.
We’ve discovered that having content that others love delivers an amazing amount of traffic to our website – great for marketing and brand awareness if not directly for sales (we leave that up to our retailers).

Influence Websites
There’s been an update to a couple of our influencer websites that I thought might be worth sharing. We have a mood wall with sketches, fabric tests, samples, cuttings and Pinterest links – but we also have an extensive website list – these two are on it and they’ve been updated. Magazine sites are following a pattern – don’t you think!?

NIGHTWALK Fashion Show, the Arches, Glasgow April 2013
There are many more photographs to share from this show and what a well organised machine it was – 15 designers showing between eight and ten pieces per collection over a one hour 40 slot. Angie and Cara should take great pride in producing the show. As you might imagine I’ve been involved in many over the years and most operating on much bigger budgets could do well to learn a thing or two from this team.
Debay is wearing the Annush jacket and Mairi shift dress both from our Autumn winter 2013 collection.
